We offer both In-Shop and Mobile work at your location
In my shop
I have a shop in Black Forest, Colorado. Just about 25 minutes out of Monument, Colorado. In the shop, I do both custom fabrication and repair work accordingly. Most customers generally bring the item that needs welded to my shop. If that is not feasible, I can pick it up from you and bring it to my shop most of the time for a fee. If the item is too large to transport, it will need to be welded onsite.
In shop welding rate is $100/hour with a $300 minimum. Trip charge is based on mileage.
Mobile Welding
I have the unique ability to get where most shop trucks cannot. I have various welding options from Stick/Mig/Flux-Core self shielded & dual shield/Oxy Acetylene & Tig (SMAW/GMAW/FCAW/GTAW). With various mobile applications at my disposal I am confident we will be able to get the right solution in place. It’s all about the right tool for the job.
Mobile welding rate is $125/hour with a $300 minimum. Trip charge is based on mileage and difficulty getting there.
Priming/Painting
Often after welding, I prefer to prime up the weld joint immediately after the weld joint cools to prevent rust and contamination. I prefer to not paint it up, as there are many variables to painting, and I am not a painter. I used Rustoleum automotive fast dry primer.
Cleaning rust/prepping weld joint
I normally prefer to use new steel, as there is less time prepping the weld joint. It takes time to clean off old rust/paint/oil off old steel. I’ve never seen cost savings in using old rusty steel. On new steel, you still need to remove mill scale on hot rolled steel to get a clean weld joint.
Hardware replacement (nuts/bolts/washers)
On most repair jobs, there will be hardware that needs to be replaced. When available, I generally replace old hardware with new Grade 8 hardware with lock washers/lock nuts as the situation calls for. It is never a good idea to use cheap hardware.
